London City Lionesses are a relatively new team, having formed in 2019 after breaking away from Millwall Lionesses.
In December 2023, Michele Kang, an American entrepreneur and advocate of equality for women in sport, acquired the club for an undisclosed fee.
The aim for London City is simple: gain promotion to the WSL while upholding the club philosophy of professionalism and discipline. This means you’ll need to judge players on character as well as ability.
The marquee signing of Sweden captain Kosovare Asllani shows great intent and sets a precedent for more high-profile signings in the future.
Kang’s takeover saw significant investment in the club. They purchased their training ground with plans to redevelop, and a stadium share with League 2 Bromley was also announced, providing them with a professional environment for their home games.
The upgraded facilities could be the difference between another season in the Championship or promotion to the WSL.
Along with London City, Kang also owns Washington Spirit and Olympique Lyonnais Féminin, offering the possibility of partnerships to strengthen London City both on and off the field.
Managing London City Lionesses, you are leading a club on the brink of bigger things. With strong support from the board and a commitment to excellence, can you steer them to success and secure a place in the WSL?
